Add On

The purchase of additional chips during a tournament

All-In

A player bets all of his remaining chips.
B

Bad Beat

If a very good hand gets beaten by a bad one unexpectedly, its a bad beat.

Bet

The stake in one round.

Blinds

The standard stake, the player who pays it changes each round to the next seat. There are to blinds, the small blind (seat left to the dealer) and the big blind (two seats left from the dealer). Usually the big blind is the double amount of the small blind.

Bluff

The try of making the opponent believe, that you have a better hand than you actually have.

Buy-In

The amount of money, that has to be paid for participating in a game. For tournaments this usually consists of the price money for the tournament and the fee for the poker operator.
C

Call

To bet the same chips as the opponents before you did.

Cash-Game

A form of gaming, where you can start and stop playing anytime, contrary to tournaments. For receiving the first cards, each new player has to pay the big blind once.

Check

No raise to the stake, waiting what the other players after you do. It is only possible in case nobody has raised before you.

Chipleader

The "Chipleader" owns the most chips in a tournament at a certain moment.

Community Cards

The cards on the table, which are visible for every player.

Connectors

Two cards in sequence.

Dealer

The person, who deals the cards, this position changes one seat to the left each round.

Donkey

Denomination for a bad player.

Equity

The mathematical share of the pot. e.e. a player has a chance to win of 60%, the pot contains 100$, then the equity for this player is 60$

Fast-poker

A special way of playing in online poker: after folding in one round, the player doesn't have to wait until the other players finished it. He will rapidly be seated to a new table by the server, where all players already finished their last round. The next one will start almost without waiting.

Flop

The first 3 community cards.

Fold

To resign one round.

High Card

The lowest possible combination, it only is the highest card.

Hole Card

The cards, which every player gets dealt at the beginning of a round.

Initial Pot

All stakes together before the first round of bets. (Blinds +Antes)

Kicker

The highest card, in your hand after a combination. It decides if 2 players have equal combinations.

Loose

If a person plays many hands. Opposite of "Tight".

Muck

To hide your winning of loosing hand, you don't show it to others.

No Limit

A kind of game, where anytime all remaining chips can be betted at once. (=All-In)

Odds

possibility to see a certain hand

Out

One card in the deck, which would complete your winning hand.

Pot

All funds that can be won in one round.

Pre-Flop

The first round of bets, even before the flop is shown.

Raise

To increase the stake.

Rake

The part of the pot, which is earned by the casino. It is used for keeping up the platform.

Reraise

There already was an increase of stake, and somebody augments it again.

River

The 5th and last community card.

Sit and Go Tournament (SitnGo)

A certain kind of tournament: There is a certain number of seats, if all of them are assigned, the tournament starts.

Tight

A person, which only plays less, good hands. Opposite of "Loose".

Turn

The 4th community card

Unsuited (aswell: off suite)

Two cards, which aren't of the same suit.
